Middletown Transmission

Project Overview

Middletown Transmission has fixed cars in Louisville for 35 years. They know transmissions, brakes, and general maintenance. But their website looked like it was built in 2005. Because it probably was. This was my first paid web design project. A local shop that needed help. They had customers - people who found them through word of mouth or drove past their location. But they were losing potential customers who searched Google, landed on their outdated site, and called a competitor with a professional web presence instead. The old site dumped every service onto one page with bare descriptions. No detail. No information. Just a list. Someone searching for "transmission repair Louisville" would land on the site and leave because it looked unprofessional and told them nothing useful. That is expensive. They needed separate pages for each service - transmission repair, brake service, oil changes, general maintenance. More pages means more ways for Google to send them traffic. More detailed descriptions means visitors actually understand what the shop does and why they should call. More appointment buttons throughout the site means fewer people who browse and forget. I rebuilt the entire site while keeping their old one live. No downtime. No lost customers while the new site was being developed. Just a smooth transition from outdated to professional. Each service got its own page with detailed descriptions of what the work involves, why it matters, and how to schedule. I added an About Us page highlighting their 35 years serving Louisville. A Reviews page showing real customer feedback. A Careers page because good shops need good mechanics. A contact form that actually works so people can reach them easily. I put appointment buttons everywhere. Not obnoxious. Just clear calls to action so when someone decides they need brake repair, they can schedule immediately instead of navigating away and forgetting. The mobile experience matters because people search for auto repair on their phones. Broken down on the side of the road. Weird noise on the way to work. They need a shop that can help today. The site works perfectly on phones so they can read about services, see reviews, and call or schedule without frustration. I optimized every page so Google actually ranks them for local searches. Proper page titles. Descriptions that help search engines understand what the business does. Fast loading speeds. All the fundamentals that make the difference between showing up on page one or page five of search results. The result: Middletown Transmission looks like the professional operation they are. They show up in more Google searches because they have more service pages with better optimization. More visitors convert to appointments because the site makes it easy. A 35-year-old business finally has a website that matches their expertise.

The Challenge

A respected auto repair shop with 35 years of history had a website that looked outdated and unprofessional. All services were crammed onto one page with minimal descriptions. Potential customers searching Google would land on the site and call competitors instead because the presentation screamed "outdated" even though the actual repair work was excellent. The site provided no clear path to schedule appointments, gave visitors no reason to trust them, and did not show up in local searches for specific services like "transmission repair Louisville" or "brake service near me."

The Solution

Completely rebuilt the website while keeping the old site live with zero downtime. Created separate, detailed pages for each service they offer - transmission repair, brakes, oil changes, general maintenance - so Google can send them traffic for specific searches. Added About Us, Reviews, and Careers pages to build trust and attract qualified mechanics. Designed clear appointment buttons throughout the site so visitors can schedule immediately when they decide to use the shop. Optimized the mobile experience so people searching from their phones can easily read, navigate, and contact the shop. Implemented proper page optimization so they rank in local Google searches.
